TATACOA

guardians of the past

The Tatacoa Desert is a Tropical Dry Forest located in the department of Huila. The few rains and strong heat waves have caused the drought of the vegetation that does not adapt, leaving the land unprotected against erosion and discovering its underground treasures. In the same way, it is an ecosystem whose importance was only recognized approximately 10 years ago, so deforestation has been another cause of the loss of the substrate.

GUARDIANS OF THE EARTH

La Tatacoa connects us with its past. Its soils keep, layer after layer, the evidence of the waters that once ran over them, the minerals that enriched them and, above all, of the various organisms that have inhabited these lands since time immemorial.

The wind and the little but heavy rain patiently scratched the place, however the little vegetation has acted like guardian, protector and in charge of preserving the land from erosion through its roots.
